Meet Laurence

Laurence is the co-founder and driving force behind Radical Hair — our much-loved work-dad, resident jokester and a true pillar of the Radical Hair Community. With over four decades in the hairdressing industry, his career has been built on connection, craftsmanship and a genuine love of people.

Laurence began his journey at just sixteen as a salon assistant, already knowing that hairdressing was the perfect blend of creativity and human connection. From the very beginning, what drew him to the craft wasn't just the technical side — it was the opportunity to work closely with people, build relationships and make someone's day better through conversation and care.

Known affectionately as the bossman of the salon, Laurence leads with personality and presence. Clients often say a visit with Laurence feels as much like catching up with an old friend as it does a hair service. He brings warmth, humour and ease to the salon floor — and it's rare for a regular to leave his chair without hearing at least one famously terrible dad joke.

Laurence is particularly known for his men's cutting work, where precision, structure and suitability are key. He also has long-standing expertise in perming and texture services, producing results that feel modern, wearable and well-structured.

With more than 45 years behind the chair, Laurence has built an exceptionally loyal clientele. Many of his clients have been visiting for years — even decades — a testament to the trust, consistency and personal connection he brings to his work.
